SECURE LANDFILL FACILITY
JNAM’s Secure Landfill has been designed with a triple liner system which comprises 600mm of compacted soil liner (minimum permeability of 1 x 10-7cm/s), followed by 2 layers of 1.5mm High-Density Polyethylene (“HDPE”) geomembrane liners. These triple safety features would ensure prevention of leachate from seeping into the groundwater. Between the HDPE geomembrane liners, a layer of non-woven geotextile protection liner is installed for the protection of the HDPE liners.
The criteria requirements of Scheduled Wastes (SW) to be disposed of at our secure landfill facility include the following:
-
The waste must be environmentally inert, and its chemical composition is stable such as metals in the form of metal oxides or hydroxides.
-
The waste must not be physically or chemically reactive. The nature of the waste must be mainly inorganic in the solid or sludge form.
-
The waste must not contain TOC more than 10% on dried weight basis (save for rubber sludge with TOC not more than 50%).
Radioactive, explosive, pathogenic or infectious, and municipal solid wastes are not allowed for disposal at this landfill.
All Scheduled Wastes will have to be sampled and analysed to determine the wastes complies with our landfill acceptance criteria before they could be disposed of at this facility.
